About the Role
You will teach French across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire confidence and enthusiasm for language learning.
The role offers the opportunity to teach highly motivated students who are eager to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Francophone cultures and traditions.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, supporting them in achieving excellent academic outcomes and fostering a lifelong appreciation of languages.
Working within a collaborative and successful department, you will contribute to curriculum development, language enrichment activities, and international learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach French across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Deliver engaging and academically challenging language lessons
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level French examinations
- Develop students' confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- Assess student progress and provide high-quality feedback
- Monitor attainment and maintain accurate records
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives
- Support language clubs, cultural events, trips, and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching French at secondary level
- Ability to teach French confidently across KS3 and KS4
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for language learning
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience teaching A-Level French
- Experience working within an independent or high-achieving school setting
- Ability to contribute to international trips, exchanges, or language enrichment activities
- Additional language specialism would be advantageous
