An established and rapidly growing national training provider is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Sales to lead and develop its high-performing sales function.
Operating across funded and commercial training programmes, the organisation delivers vocational qualifications, workforce development solutions, compliance training, adult learning programmes, and skills-based training initiatives to employers throughout the UK.

As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for leading the sales operation, delivering ambitious growth targets, and expanding the organisation's customer base within key sectors, including construction and related industries.
You will develop and execute strategic sales plans, drive team performance, build strong client relationships, and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to senior leadership.
- Lead, motivate and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Design and implement strategic sales plans to support business growth and market expansion.
- Drive customer acquisition and maximise revenue opportunities across existing and new accounts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from planning through to successful close.
- Monitor sales performance through KPI management, coaching and performance reviews.
- Implement training and development plans to enhance team capability and sales quality.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings to support employee engagement, development and accountability.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Deliver exceptional levels of customer service and ensure all sales activities are conducted with integrity and professionalism.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts, revenue reports and performance analysis for senior management.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on business objectives.
- Lead by example in promoting company values, policies and best practice.
We are looking for a commercially driven sales leader with a proven track record of delivering sustainable growth through effective leadership and strategic sales management.
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, ideally as Head of Sales, Sales Manager or similar.
- Demonstrable success in achieving ambitious revenue and growth targets.
- Strong experience developing customer-focused sales strategies and solutions.
- Proven ability to manage the sales process from strategy through to successful delivery.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset.
- Outstanding leadership, mentoring and people management capabilities.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Experience within the training, education, skills, apprenticeships or workforce development sector.
- Knowledge of government-funded training programmes and funding streams.
- Understanding of the construction sector and associated workforce development requirements.
