HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Driver – Container Work
£206 per day | Full-Time | Permanent | Primarily Monday–Friday
MCS Logistics Ltd is recruiting experienced Class 1 Tramper Drivers for ongoing UK-wide container work. This is a full-time, permanent position offering consistent work, regular tramping, and long-term stability within a growing logistics operation.
The Role
- Collect containers from major UK ports including DP World Southampton (Southampton), Portico (Portsmouth), the Port of Felixstowe (Suffolk), London Gateway (Thurrock, Essex), and the Port of Liverpool (Merseyside)
- Deliver containers to customer sites nationwide
- Primarily Monday to Friday tramping, with regular nights out
- Some weekend work may be required, depending on operational demand
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete all required paperwork
- Secure loads correctly and operate safely at all times
- Comply fully with drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 3 years’ HGV driving experience (essential)
- Previous container and port work experience (preferred)
- Port access cards (e.g. DP World, Portico) advantageous
- Comfortable with regular nights out and occasional weekend work
- Professional attitude with good communication and time management skills
