Events Porter – Wharfedale Grange
Wharfedale Grange, Yorkshire’s only luxury barn wedding venue, is seeking a dedicated Events Porter to join our passionate and professional team. This unique role offers the chance to be a part of something truly special—ensuring our venue is always immaculate, operationally sound, and ready to deliver magical moments to every couple and guest.
As the Events Porter, you will be a key presence on-site, offering hands-on support for weddings and events, maintaining the highest standards in venue presentation and safety, and acting as the first point of contact for guests and residents outside of core hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all departments to maintain pristine presentation and health & safety compliance throughout the venue.
- Responsible for setting up weddings and ensuring venue furnishings and layouts are always event-ready, working closely with our Events Team.
- Work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure the smooth and seamless running of the evening part of the event, and take responsibility for securely locking up the venue at the end of the night.
- Act as the primary key holder, responding to alarms and emergencies when needed.
- Oversee cleaning contracts to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation.
- Oversee general maintenance of the building, liaising with the office and coordinating repairs and inspections as required.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety obligations, maintaining accurate documentation, risk assessments, and inspection logs.
- Manage all building systems, with a focus on life safety equipment, alarms, and preventative maintenance.
- Lead on all health & safety, security and fire safety procedures, including regular training for duty managers and casual staff.
About You:
- Highly organised, hands-on, and proactive with a strong eye for detail.
- A natural problem solver with a calm, professional approach.
- Previous experience in facilities management, venue operations, or similar roles is preferred but not necessary.
- Comfortable with flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings.
- A warm, personable manner – someone who enjoys helping people and takes pride in creating an exceptional guest experience.
- Must live locally with own transport.
Package:
- £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
