The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose faults and identify effective repair solutions.
- Report defects and faults in accordance with company procedures.
- Work closely with the Parts Department to source and fit the correct replacement components.
- Complete all relevant paperwork accurately, including internal documentation, customer records, and Department for Transport compliance documents.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and is completed within agreed timescales.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic is essential.
- Previous experience within a Commercial Main Dealership environment is highly desirable.
- A valid HGV Licence is preferred but not essential.
- Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Capable of planning workloads, prioritising tasks, and multitasking when required.
