We are seeking a passionate and organised Sixth Form Personal Tutor to join our thriving Sixth Form team for this September. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the academic success and personal development of our Year 12 and Year 13 students.
The Role
As a Sixth Form Personal Tutor, you will:
- Take a leading role in monitoring attendance, progress, and wellbeing for a cohort of Sixth Form students
- Provide tailored academic and pastoral support, helping students to reach their full potential
- Guide students through university applications (UCAS) as well as offering informed advice on apprenticeships and employment pathways
- Support the delivery of the Personal Tutor programme, including study skills and enrichment activities
- Supervise independent study sessions and coordinate targeted interventions where needed
- Maintain accurate student records and data, supporting tracking and reporting processes
- Contribute actively to key Sixth Form events such as Open Evenings, Enterprise Days, and Parent Evenings
- Work closely with the Head of Sixth Form to uphold the College’s high standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care
This role is 28 hours per week Term time + 1 week (to be worked in August) (40 weeks per year) Graded C 1-6 DOE actual salary: £18,481 - £20,404 (£26,929 - £29,731 FTE) per annum
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people’s success and wellbeing
- Brings relevant experience (ideally within a school or Sixth Form setting)
- Has knowledge or experience of supporting UCAS applications (desirable)
