Looking for a care role where you can build a genuine relationship with one client instead of rushing between multiple visits?
Neeryville Care is looking for a warm, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to support one lovely elderly lady living in Highgate.
This is an ongoing role providing approximately 2 hours of support per day, 7 days a week (14 hours per week) while the client’s live-in carer takes her daily break.
The daily timings can be agreed in advance, offering flexibility while providing consistent support.
About the Client
Our client is a lovely 97-year-old former teacher and writer who enjoys conversation, listening to music and, above all, spending time outdoors. She loves going for walks and remains mobile and independent despite living with early-stage dementia.
She responds particularly well to carers who speak Polish, Spanish, Croatian or German, as these languages are familiar to her and help with communication and reassurance.
This is a calm, unhurried companionship role where building trust, patience and consistency are far more important than rushing through tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Accompanying the client on enjoyable walks in the local area
- Preparing light meals and refreshments
- Offering reassurance and supervision
- Supporting her daily routine and independence
- Spending quality one-to-one time together
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Speaks Polish, Spanish, Croatian or German
- Is kind, calm and patient
- Enjoys walking and being outdoors
- Is reliable and looking for ongoing work
- Has previous care experience (preferred)
- Has experience supporting people living with dementia (desirable)
- Understands that people living with dementia can sometimes become frustrated and is able to respond with reassurance, patience and kindness
