No previous school experience is required. Schools are looking for graduates with the right attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn.
The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work within a secondary school Learning Base, supporting students who may require additional help with their learning, behaviour, social communication, or emotional wellbeing.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Working with pupils with SEN, autism, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural needs
- Helping students access learning and remain engaged in lessons
- Providing classroom support alongside teachers and pastoral teams
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Delivering intervention sessions and targeted support
- Building positive relationships and promoting confidence and independence
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in any subject area
- A genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
- Graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, youth work, social work, or SEN support are encouraged to apply
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
