Job Summary
We are a well-established Chinese restaurant in Euston Central London, and we are urgently looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster teamwork and efficiency.
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage inventory control.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff
Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Chinese restaurant kitchens required
- Previous Sous Chef or Senior Chef experience is mandatory
- Experience in dumplings, dim sum, Chinese dough, or Dongbei regional Chinese cuisine is an advantage
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Professional chef qualification or culinary certification is preferred
- Ability to speak Chinese is essential, as most kitchen staffs are Chinese speaking
- Good teamwork and communication skills
