Primary Teaching Assistant (Unqualified)

We are looking for a compassionate and driven Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bury. You will play a key role in providing 1:1 support to students with special educational needs (SEN) and those who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
No prior experience is necessary, but we are looking for individuals with the following qualities:
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and proactive in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for education and commitment to making a difference
- Patience and empathy, with a strong commitment to understanding each child’s unique needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trusting relationships
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support tailored to each student, focusing on emotional, social, and educational needs
- Establish trusting, positive relationships to help children feel safe, understood, and valued
- Create a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages each student’s potential
- Assist in managing behaviour positively, using approaches that foster self-esteem and mutual respect
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure cohesive support aligned with the student’s EHCP goals
