We’re looking for a Facilities & Support Services Co-ordinator to help keep Heartlands and East Pool Mine safe, welcoming and running smoothly.
This is a varied role combining on-site problem-solving with essential facilities coordination and administration.
You’ll play an important part in delivering high standards of safety, compliance, presentation and visitor experience, while helping support wider community access to heritage, nature and green space.

The National Trust and our partners, Cornwall Rural Community Charity, are in negotiations to secure the lease for Heartlands with Cornwall Council. Together, we want to work with the local community to transform Heartlands into a vibrant place for opportunity, inclusion and experiences.
Heartlands is an eight-hectare site at the heart of Cornwall’s mining heritage, bringing together historic buildings, green spaces and community facilities. Nearby, East Pool Mine cares for nationally important mining heritage within a World Heritage landscape.

What you'll be doing:Reporting to the Facilities Manager you’ll support day-to-day facilities and support services across Heartlands and East Pool Mine, helping ensure buildings and outdoor spaces are safe, compliant, well maintained and ready for everyday use and visitors.
Your work will include:
- carrying out practical tasks such as minor repairs, basic maintenance, cleaning, waste management and site presentation.
- supporting planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, including working with contractors.
- helping deliver health and safety, fire, inspection and compliance checks, and keeping accurate records
- managing systems and processes such as purchase orders, compliance logs and asset information
- supporting a positive visitor experience by keeping public areas clean, safe and welcoming
- working sustainably and in line with conservation principles, while supporting colleagues and volunteers as part of the wider team
This is a role that balances desk top administration with time spent on site keeping things running smoothly.
Who we're looking forWe’re looking for someone who is organised, practical and customer-focused, with a hands-on approach and a genuine interest in caring for places.
You’ll have:
- experience in a facilities, administration and support services, business support or customer/visitor-facing role
- a good understanding of health, safety, fire and security procedures
- the ability to carry out practical tasks and confidently solve problems on site
- strong organisational skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and other digital systems
- good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- a flexible, team-focused approach, including working with and supporting volunteers
