Refurbishment Technician
Stafford (ST16)
£16.15 per hour (Overtime available)
Rotating Shifts: Monday to Friday (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00)
Gig Recruitment is currently recruiting for Refurbishment Technicians on behalf of our well-established client based in Stafford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing operation that specialises in processing and refurbishing returned products from leading home improvement and DIY retailers.
This role offers full training and the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
The Role
As a Refurbishment Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, testing, cleaning, repairing, and refurbishing returned products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before being returned to stock for resale.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosing faults on returned electrical products and power tools
- Testing, repairing, and refurbishing products where economically viable
- Disassembling and reassembling products as required
- Using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and workshop machinery
- Cleaning and preparing products using approved chemicals and cleaning agents
- Completing product inspections in line with quality standards
- Maintaining accurate records using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office
- Following all Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
- Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a refurbishment, engineering, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or technician role
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable Skills
- PAT Testing experience or certification
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Experience working within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Experience refurbishing electrical products or power tools
PAT Testing training will be provided and successful candidates will be required to complete the certification.
