Self-Employed Dog Groomer – Minimum Level 2 Qualified
We are a friendly, independent dog grooming salon looking to expand our team. We're seeking a talented and passionate self-employed Dog Groomer who takes pride in delivering exceptional grooms and outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Perform grooming procedures including bathing, drying, brushing, trimming, clipping and styling dogs to client requirements and breed standards.
- Carry out high-quality breed standard grooms with confidence.
- Handle dogs with care, patience and professionalism, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout every groom.
- Complete grooms efficiently without rushing, giving each dog the time and attention they deserve.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic salon by sanitising equipment, grooming tables and work areas regularly.
- Manage your daily appointments efficiently while providing excellent customer service and clear communication with pet owners.
- Advise clients on coat maintenance, grooming schedules and aftercare for their pets.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of different coat types, skin conditions, ear care and the effects of matting, always prioritising animal welfare.
- Keep up to date with the latest grooming techniques, products and industry trends through ongoing professional development.
- Ensure all grooming equipment is cleaned, maintained and in excellent working order.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification.
- Confident carrying out breed standard grooms to a high standard.
- Experience grooming a variety of breeds and coat types.
- Confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.
- Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality grooms.
- Professional, friendly and reliable.
- One professional reference required.
- Minimum of 2 years expierence working in a salon
