Overview
We seek a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. The role will consist of a minimum of two, 24.5-hour shift per week, which includes an 8-hour sleep-in. The shift day will be variable, Monday -Sunday. The rota pattern is one on two off.
In this role, you will provide essential support to Children, ensuring their well-being and helping them achieve their personal goals. You will work closely with the children to develop and implement care plans tailored to their specific needs, fostering independence and help them to achieve positive outcomes.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in childcare or working with children, as well as strong communication skills.
Due to the nature of this post the Department for Education National Minimum Standards state that the employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.

Responsibilities
- Safeguarding children at all times.
- Provide and maintain high-quality care
- Assist children with daily living activities, and drive them to appointments/activities/school.
- Implement, and review individual care plans in collaboration with the children, their families and professionals involved in their care.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals involved in the care process.
- Providing a safe and clean environment where children can thrive.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Offer high levels of engagement for and with children and be ambitious in achieving positive outcomes for them.
- Compliance with governance/quality standards.
- Building positive relationship's with children’s, ensuring their needs, feelings and wishes are met.
- Responding to behaviours that challenge in a calm, patient and empathic way.
- Supporting the children to access the community and education.
- Ensuring a healthy and nutritious lifestyle for children.
- Building the children’s resilience and self-belief and give them the skills to ready for independence.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or in a similar support role is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to drive and hold a manual car driving licence.
- Proficiency in IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the children.
