We are an established and growing ground care equipment dealership, specialising in the hire, purchase, sale, servicing, and repair of ground care machinery and related equipment.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a highly organised and proactive technical operations assistant to support the day-to-day running of our service and workshop operations.
This is an important role within the business, acting as a key point of contact for customers and helping to ensure that enquiries, bookings, engineer schedules, and service jobs are managed efficiently and professionally.
The Role
This role will be in person and based at our depot located in Stanley Common and the working hours will be 7.30am - 4.30pm
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer enquiries, booking services and repair jobs, maintaining accurate job records, and ensuring that workshop and engineer schedules are managed effectively.
You will work closely with customers, mechanics, suppliers, and management to help coordinate the servicing, repair, hire, purchase, and sale of ground care equipment.
A key part of the role will involve using Mechanic Desk, our workshop and job management software, to create and update job cards, manage bookings, track repair progress, and support the smooth running of daily operations.
This is a busy and varied position requiring excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries by telephone, email, and in person in a professional manner
- Book in service, repair, and maintenance jobs accurately and efficiently
- Manage and update job cards using Mechanic Desk
- Plan and coordinate mechanics’ schedules and daily workload
- Ensure workshop diaries and job schedules are maintained effectively
- Communicate with customers regarding bookings, equipment updates, repair progress, and completion times
- Support the coordination of equipment hire, sales, purchases, servicing, and repairs
- Liaise with mechanics, engineers, suppliers, and management to ensure jobs progress smoothly
- Stock take
- Order parts for ongoing service and repair jobs where required
- Maintain accurate internal records and update relevant systems
- Prepare operational updates and reports for management
- Support the smooth workflow of the workshop and service department
- Assist with general office, administrative, and operational duties
Requirements Essential:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Ability to manage customer enquiries confidently and professionally
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems
- Strong attention to detail when booking jobs and updating records
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work in a busy environment
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience within ground care equipment, plant machinery , tool hire, agricultural machinery, machinery sales, or a service/workshop environment
- Experience coordinating engineers, mechanics, or workshop schedules
- Previous experience using Mechanic Desk or similar job management/workshop software
- Knowledge of parts ordering, service processes, or equipment repairs
- Experience dealing with customer bookings and service enquiries

Summary

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
