This is a Fixed Term Contract for 3 months based in our offices and facory in Basingstoke North Hampshire. This is an on site based role.
With support of the R&D Managers, the R&D Technician role is a hybrid function across the Beverage and Packaging development teams. They will be responsible for assisting R&D activities associated with the development of new drinks as well as the maintenance of existing products and packaging.
- Data collation and analysis of test results to develop conclusions and recommendations to enable robust business decision making.
- Creation and maintenance of specifications within the document control system.
- Beverage research - sample preparation and assessment within GMP food laboratory
- Packaging Research – sample preparation, and assessment to support research projects
- Potential to partake in quality training at a packaging supplier.
- Execution of internal testing methods (across both beverage and packaging)
- Contribute towards the improvement of existing systems and ways of working
- Own and execute short-term projects where required.
Skills needed:
Educational / Qualifications:
-The ideal candidate will be educated in a STEM subject.
-Strong competency within Excel or other numerical analysis tool.
-Competency in Word for written lab reports & specification generation.
-Comfortable using Powerpoint and able to effectively present findings to the team.
-Good understanding of controlled experimental method.
-Willingness to learn about beverage development; benchtop development, trials, sensory
-Willingness to learn about packaging materials; conversion, distribution, run-ability, quality controls.
-Able to leverage interpersonal skills to form strong relationships and build networks.
-The right person will be a team player but also self-motivated.
