We are seeking an experienced and passionate cook to join our nursery team for 15 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our children while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, healthy meals and snacks for children and staff
- Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene standards and follow food safety regulations
- Manage kitchen stock levels and place orders with suppliers
- Monitor food costs and work within allocated budgets
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and areas
- Keep accurate records of temperature checks, deliveries, and stock rotation
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff to accommodate children's dietary needs
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Experience in catering or professional cooking
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements for young children
- Understanding of food allergies and dietary requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication abilities
