Established in 2016, Ottolive Bakery has been proudly baking some of the finest sourdough and viennoiserie in the heart of Shropshire for the past ten years. We specialize in long-fermented breads and high-quality pastries, supplying both wholesale customers and our own shop located just across from our shaping bench.

About the Role
We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Artisan Baker. While we prefer candidates with some relevant kitchen or bakery experience, full training will be provided for the right person. What matters most to us is a genuine passion for the craft and a hunger to learn.
Key Responsibilities
You will be involved in every stage of the artisan baking process, including:
- Production: Mixing doughs (spiral mixer), hand moulding, and shaping sourdough and yeasted breads.
- Oven Work: Precision loading, baking, and unloading of products.
- Pastry & Prep: Preparing viennoiserie, pastries, and cakes; weighing ingredients accurately.
- Operations: Packing products for wholesale/retail and setting up the bakery for the day.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining a clean workspace, logging temperatures, following HACCP procedures, and participating in deep cleaning/maintenance.
Who We’re Looking For
Our bakery features an open kitchen setting, so professionalism is key. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: Some background in a bakery or professional kitchen.
- Physical Stamina: This is a demanding role; you must be able to lift 16kg flour sacks and handle up to 4 tonnes of dough per week.
- Reliability: A positive "can-do" attitude and the ability to work as part of a tight-knit team.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required.
- Pride in Craft: A sharp eye for detail and a desire to produce high-quality goods.
