Smart Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support pupils in a specialist school environment.
Job Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Support pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning strategies
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support safeguarding and behaviour management strategies within the classroom

Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or additional learning needs
- Confidence supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
- Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
