Senior RVN / Team Leader Nurse
Location: Ace Vets Practice, Cranham (RM14)
Ace Vets is looking for an experienced, confident and highly motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to step into a Team Leader Nurse position.
This is not simply a nursing role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the clinical floor, lead by example, and help build a culture of accountability, efficiency and excellence.
As our practice continues to grow, we need a nurse who is confident managing people as well as patients. Someone who can support the team, maintain high standards, address issues early, and ensure that daily tasks are completed to the level expected in a modern veterinary practice.
The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive and approachable, whilst also being comfortable holding colleagues accountable and ensuring standards are maintained. We are looking for a natural leader who enjoys developing people, improving systems and helping a team perform at its best. This is a hands-on role, and you will spend a significant proportion of your time involved in clinical nursing, anaesthesia, surgery support and patient care.
The Role
You will play a central role in the day-to-day running of the clinic and will work closely with the Clinical Director and management team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the practice runs smoothly, efficiently and professionally every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the clinical floor, ensuring efficient workflow and patient care
- Manage daily nursing and support staff activities
- Ensure tasks are completed consistently, accurately and on time
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and infection control throughout the practice
- Support, mentor and develop nurses, student nurses and support staff
- Address performance concerns promptly and professionally
- Promote accountability, teamwork and a positive working culture
- Ensure clinical protocols and practice standards are followed consistently
- Assist veterinary surgeons during procedures and surgeries
- Deliver high-quality nursing care and patient monitoring
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and recovery
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow and clinical standards
- Contribute to the development and growth of the nursing team and practice

Ideal Experience
- 3+ years' experience in a busy veterinary practice (flexible for the right candidate)
- Previous senior nurse, team leader or head nurse experience
- Experience managing people, rotas, stock or workflow
- Financial awareness and commercial understanding would be advantageous
