Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Dry Cleaning Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of our dry cleaning receiving shop, ensuring garments are processed accurately and customers receive excellent service. This role is ideal for individuals with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in garment care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, tag, and process customer garments and household items for cleaning
- Accurately prepare and organise items for collection and delivery to the cleaning factory
- Operate washing machines and tumble dryers for in-house wash, dry, and fold services
- Press and finish shirts to a high standard
- Handle garments with care to prevent damage, loss, or contamination
- Assist customers with enquiries, orders, collections, and payments in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain accurate records of customer orders and garment tracking
- Keep the shop, work areas, and equipment clean and organised in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Monitor and organise cleaning supplies and materials as required
- Follow all company procedures and safety protocols during daily operations
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is desirable
- Hotel or hospitality experience is highly valued due to the customer service skills and attention to quality standards it provides
- Experience in a laundry, dry cleaning, or garment care environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a professional, positive attitude
- Basic numeracy and computer skills for order processing and customer transactions
