English Teacher (SEMH)
- Northampton, Northamptonshire
- Full Time | Term Time | Permanent
- Up to £42,000 per annum (DOE)
Teach Where It Truly Matters! Some young people just need someone who won’t give up on them.
School Staffing Solutions are looking for a compassionate, committed and inspiring English teacher to work with students aged 11–16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are unable to access mainstream education.
This role isn’t just about delivering lessons. It’s about building trust. Restoring confidence. Creating those small breakthroughs that turn into life-changing progress.
If you believe every young person deserves another chance to succeed, you’ll fit right in.
About the Role
You’ll teach English up to GCSE level in small classes, where relationships come first and learning follows. You’ll have the time and space to adapt your teaching, respond to individual needs, and celebrate every step forward — no matter how small.
Our environment is structured, supportive and nurturing. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues who understand the challenges our students face and who support one another every day.
What We’re Looking For
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Ability to teach English to GCSE level
- Patience, consistency and emotional resilience
- A calm, adaptable and creative teaching style
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Experience with SEMH is helpful — but what matters most is your mindset. We need someone who sees potential, not problems.
What You’ll Gain
- A competitive salary up to £42,000 (DOE)
- Small class sizes and meaningful teaching
- A full induction and ongoing mentoring
- Continuous professional development
- Strong wellbeing support
- A friendly, supportive leadership team
- Paid DBS
- Real progression opportunities
