The Role:
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a key finance professional responsible for ensuring robust financial governance for both internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will oversee and mentor a dedicated transactional finance team of 4. This is a highly collaborative role that blends technical financial reporting with team leadership and process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Reporting & Compliance: Support the preparation of annual accounts, VAT returns, P11D forms, and national statistics submissions. Act as a key point of contact for tax authorities.
- Balance Sheet Integrity: Take full ownership of the timeliness and quality of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and the maintenance of the general ledger.
- Payroll Processing & Control: Oversee, validate, and control payroll processes, including managing uploads to internal billing systems.
- Pensions: Review and control multiple pension scheme arrangements across the diverse business sectors.
- Banking & Cash Management: Maintain oversight of multiple bank accounts, ensuring accurate payment processing and approvals.
- Cashless Liability: Manage the control and internal reporting of monthly client cashless liability positions.
- Financial Controls: Drive the continuous improvement of the financial control framework by strengthening, monitoring, and streamlining processes.
Team Leadership & Projects:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 4 finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Support the business with ad-hoc financial projects and duties as the organisation continues to scale.
Qualifications & Technical Expertise:
- Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3+ years Post-
- Data & Analytics: Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, and data manipulation).
- Systems: Experience using SAP is an advantage, though not essential.

- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into simple, actionable information for non-financial stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with a willingness to be "hands-on" when required.
- Collaboration: Highly collaborative approach when partnering with different internal departments and stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining balance sheet integrity.
Other Essential Requirements:
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- A clear, enhanced DBS check.
