Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing care and assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting clients with various needs, including those requiring assistance with daily living activities and specialised care.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary requirements.
- Support clients in engaging in daily activities, promoting independence while ensuring safety.
- Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Assist with medication management as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.
- Provide care for individuals with specific needs, including dementia care and hospice care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in care settings such as home care, nursing homes, or childcare is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate approach towards individuals requiring support and care.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by client needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in care-related fields will be considered an asset.
