Food Manufacturing – QA, Exeter
Little & Cull are a leading supplier of premium chilled, frozen and prepared foods with BRCGS Accredited manufacturing operations in both Exeter and Newton Abbot. We are looking for a Quality Assurance assistant based at our manufacturing site at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in food production and kick-start their career in food technical. Working at the heart of a fast paced food production environment in a small team, you’ll play a key role in quality assurance, food safety, and product testing, ensuring our food is safe, consistent - and by participating in taste panels - tastes as it should!
You’ll complete regular daily tasks as well as being involved in site activities. Role responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
· Leading by example on Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Daily, weekly and monthly QA checks including monthly glass and hard plastic and GMP audits
· Assisting in carrying out environmental, hand and allergen swabs as well as collecting samples for product micro and meat species testing
· Issuing data loggers, reviewing data and reporting issues
· Ensuring accurate completion of documentation, assisting with final paperwork checks and filing once complete
· Assisting with routine CCP refresher training
· Monitoring versions of controlled documentation and keeping QA documents up to date (e.g. glass and hard plastic log, scales and thermometer calibration log).
· Setting up and reporting of internal product review taste panels
· Raising any food safety, quality, legality or authenticity issues to the Technical Manager

· Set shift patterns Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, 42.5 hours per week

We are looking for someone that can demonstrate;
· A real eye for detail
· Excellent communication skills – you’ll need to be confident communicating with teams across the business
· The ability and desire to be proactive and use your initiative
· An understanding of a an environment that is led by food safety standards
The following would also be a real benefit but is not essential as training will be provided;
- Food Hygiene L2
- Knowledge of HACCP (HACCP L2)
