Plumber / Carpentry Multi Trader (Social Housing)

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Plumber / Carpentry Multi Trader to carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance within a social housing environment. The role involves working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality workmanship with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of plumbing and carpentry repairs, including reactive and planned maintenance
- Complete works in occupied and void properties, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants
- Diagnose faults efficiently and carry out effective repairs on first visit where possible
- Undertake additional basic multi-trade works (e.g. patch plastering, tiling, basic painting) as required
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in line with company procedures
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices
- Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and materials responsibly
- Accurately complete job reports, worksheets, and documentation
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service when interacting with tenants
- Work to agreed schedules and meet productivity targets
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Multi Trader within social housing or a similar environment
- Strong skills in both plumbing repairs (e.g. leaks, pipework, sanitary ware) and carpentry (e.g. doors, locks, kitchens, basic joinery)
- Ability to carry out a variety of multi-trade tasks to a good standard
- Experience working in occupied properties with a customer-focused approach
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience working within a social housing contractor or local authority
- Basic understanding of damp and mould issues
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing or Carpentry (or both preferred)
