Senior Sous Chef – The Woodman, Highgate
£16 – £19 per hour (depending on experience) + bonus potential
We’re looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our kitchen at The Woodman, Highgate — a busy, independent gastropub with a strong reputation for quality food and a large, high-volume operation.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced kitchen, working closely with our Head Chef (ex-The Ivy) and leading a solid team.

The role
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Lead services and run the pass when required
- Maintain high standards of food quality and consistency
- Help manage GP, stock control, and ordering
- Train and develop junior chefs
- Ensure strong hygiene and kitchen organisation
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Sous or strong Junior Sous ready to step up
- Comfortable in a busy, high-volume environment
- Good understanding of GP and kitchen controls
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Calm under pressure and leads by example
- Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
