Credit Control Assistant (Collections Focus)
Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire (Office Based)
Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible across 3–5 days)
Pay: Starting from £13.50 per hour, with clear progression as the role develops into full credit control management

The Role
We are looking for a Credit Control Assistant with a strong focus on cash collection and account management to support our finance function.
This is a hands-on role focused on improving cash flow, reducing overdue debt, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. You will work closely with our Credit Control Admin role to ensure full control across the sales ledger.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively chase outstanding invoices via phone and email
- Manage and reduce overdue debt across a high-volume ledger (~200+ invoices)
- Maintain regular communication with customers to secure timely payments
- Monitor and manage payment terms to improve cash flow
- Escalate accounts where required, maintaining a commercial and professional approach
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve invoice queries efficiently
- Support management of invoice finance and credit protection portals
- Coordinate with Credit Control Admin to ensure full ledger accuracy
Requirements
- Essential: Experience using Xero
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage payment conversations
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Commercial mindset – able to balance firmness with customer relationships
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business environment
