Who we are
Craig Robinson Vets is an independent practice that is proactive and progressive with both clinical care and working environment serving the local community for over 125 years. Our working week is four days with 5pm finish as a standard day. We are a 21-vet mixed practice, well supported by 12 nurses and 3 trainee nurses. We are a 2-site practice, situated on the East and West of Carlisle. Our custom built Wigton Road surgery was runner up for a veterinary design award in 2019.
Carlisle is a historic small city only 30 minutes from the Lake District. The city is well connected via road and railway to Glasgow/Edinburgh/Newcastle/Manchester/London. Offering plenty of scope to enjoy your day off each week.
We have a strong team ethos and supportive culture within the practice. We are a warm and welcoming group, holding regular social events outside of work as well as practice Bake Off competitions.
The Job
Clinical freedom on cases with a large team to discuss and offer support. We have a small animal medicine certificate holder and small animal surgery certificate holder within the practice. Lots of equipment including digital X-Ray, doppler ultrasound, video rhinoscope/bronchoscope/gastroscope, in-house biochemistry, haematology and urinalysis machine. Share of the on-call rota, 1 in 7. On call is also backed up with another vet and nurse. Flexibility of working hours and extended consult times for complicated cases. Part-time role would be considered for the right applicant. Looking for experienced vet but would consider new graduates.
