Mechanical Supervisor – M&E (Data Centre Project)
Location: Weybridge, Surrey
Rate: £30–£32 per hour (depending on experience)
Duration: Long-term ongoing work
Start Date: Imminent / Project starting soon
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major M&E data centre project in Weybridge. This is a long-term opportunity for a strong supervisor with a proven background in delivering large-scale mechanical installations within critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works on site
- Manage subcontractors and direct labour to ensure productivity and quality standards
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with project programme and specifications
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with design and engineering standards
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth delivery
- Monitor progress and report updates to senior management
- Enforce health & safety standards at all times
- Support commissioning activities and handover processes
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on large commercial or industrial projects
- Previous experience working on data centres or critical infrastructure projects (essential preferred)
- Strong background in HVAC, pipefitting, chilled water systems, and mechanical plant installation
- Experience managing teams of mechanical operatives and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of project sequencing and construction programmes
- Experience working in live/controlled environments advantageous
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid CSCS Card (Gold or Black – Supervisory level)
- SSSTS or SMSTS (SMSTS preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Pipefitting (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical trade qualification
- Valid IPAF (desirable depending on site requirements)
- Valid PASMA (desirable)
- First Aid at Work certificate (preferred)
- IOSH Managing Safely (advantageous)
