We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team on a full-time, 2-month fixed-term contract.
The role is Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with the potential for hybrid working.

Finance Manager
To provide interim financial leadership and oversight across Creating Enterprise, Calon Homes LLP and Onnen. The role ensures robust financial control, accurate and timely reporting, strong governance, and effective support for operational and strategic decision-making. The Interim Finance Manager leads the finance function for the subsidiaries, oversees the Accounting Technicians, and ensures compliance with statutory, regulatory and internal requirements during a period of transition and business transformation.
- Responsible for financial management across CE, CDL, Calon Homes LLP and Onnen
- Combined turnover approx. £30m across entities
- Line management of 2 Accounting Technicians
- Oversight of statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, cashflow, VAT, CIS, payroll review, intercompany, project accounting & audit
- Key contributor to Board and Executive reporting
- Responsible for ensuring strong financial controls, policies and procedures
Focus and Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership & Governance
- Lead the finance function for CE, CDL, Calon Homes LLP and Onnen, ensuring strong financial control and compliance
- Approve journals, payment runs and key financial outputs
- Review monthly management accounts, challenge variances and provide clear commentary
- Lead annual budget and in-year forecasting processes
- Oversee payroll outputs and ensure accuracy of payroll accounting
- Final review of VAT returns and oversight of CIS compliance
- Maintain oversight of intercompany balances and settlements
- Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
- Own and maintain finance policies, procedures and internal controls

Essential:
- Significant post-qualification experience in financial management
- Experience overseeing finance for multiple entities or subsidiaries
- Strong understanding of management accounts, statutory accounts and audit
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Experience of VAT, CIS and payroll oversight
- Experience working with Boards, Executives and senior stakeholders
- Experience leading teams and developing staff
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop others
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Advanced Excel and competent use of finance systems
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
Desirable:
- Experience of business transformation or system/process improvement
- Experience in construction, development or project-based accounting
- Ability to communicate in Welsh
- Ability to drive in the UK with access to a vehicle (role-dependent)
