Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

Pay Rate: £13.63 – £16.69 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work in a Key Stage 2 class at a school in Workington. This is a long-term role, supporting general classroom duties with the potential to cover PPA sessions during the school day.
This position is ideal for a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils in KS2 and contributing to a positive learning environment.
The Role:
- Provide general classroom support in a KS2 setting
- Work with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assist with delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Cover PPA sessions when required (using pre-planned resources)
- Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team
- Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (essential)
- Experience working in a primary school, ideally within KS2
- Confidence supporting learning across the primary curriculum
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS certificate (Update Service or willingness to apply)
- Full and up-to-date CV
- Ability to provide two professional references
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
