Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries during night shifts, ensuring timely delivery of goods across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for drivers with commercial driving experience to work in a dynamic and professional environment, contributing to the efficient movement of freight during overnight hours.
Duties
- Operate night trunk routes, adhering strictly to all safety and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal standards.
- ensuring safe transportation throughout the journey.
- Plan and follow optimal routes to meet delivery schedules efficiently.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour while representing the company on the road.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries and delivery routes.
- Knowledge of safe cargo securing procedures for double decker's
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and efficiency.
- Ability to work night shifts, primarily during overnight hours.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail for completing documentation accurately.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or route adjustments as required.
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable.
