We are looking for an early year’s entitlements & sufficiency officer to work as part of our newly formed early years and childcare service. This is an exciting time to join our small and friendly team as we develop and embed the many government initiatives and drive service improvements, including implementation of our Best Start in Life plan.
You will be working in a high paced data focused environment therefore a flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
The successful applicant should have a detailed working knowledge of early education and childcare statutory guidance and childcare sufficiency, in addition to a high level of ICT skills, with proven experience of using IT software including excel and Synergy.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role with some days working from home and others in our city centre office, ideally situated near the train station and main bus routes.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
