The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project delivery team, managing costs, relationships, and risk across multiple live projects simultaneously. You will have the support of experienced Directors and the autonomy to lead your own commissions from inception through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts across project lifecycles
- Leading procurement, tender preparation, and evaluation on behalf of clients
- Undertaking contract administration across JCT and NEC form contracts
- Carrying out valuations, variations management, and final account settlements
- Providing clear, confident commercial advice to clients and stakeholders
- Mentoring junior and graduate team members as part of their ongoing development
- Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting bids and fee proposals where required
What We Are Looking For Essential
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent construction-related degree
- MRICS qualified, or demonstrably working towards chartership
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS consultancy or client-side environment
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms
- Proven ability to manage projects from feasibility through to final account
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially astute with strong numerical and analytical ability
Desirable
- Experience across multiple sectors (residential, commercial, education, or public sector)
- Familiarity with RICS Cost Analysis and cost benchmarking tools
- Experience using CostX, Causeway, or similar estimating software
- A genuine interest in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
