Field Service Engineer (Heavy Wheeled Material Handling)
Location: Southampton (candidate to be based within one hour of Southampton)
Salary: £41792 for 40 hours, with working time being from door to door.
Additional Pay: All overtime at x 1.5 or x 2. On call work offers more earning opportunities.
Work Radius: We will keep you as close to home as possible, but national travel will be required at times.

This Global OEM in the manufacture, supply and servicing of heavy material handling plant machinery, has a great new opportunity for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a high-performing UK and Ireland team. This is an opportunity for engineers with experience in heavy material handling, heavy plant and forklift trucks to join a global leader seen in the sector as a provider of premier equipment. What You’ll Do
- Provide maintenance, repair, servicing, and support for cutting-edge heavy plant and material handling equipment at customer sites. Equipment includes kit such as reach stackers and forklift trucks generally over 8 tonnes.
- Autonomously plan your workday with door-to-door pay.
- Cover clients primarily across the south of the UK, as part of a wider southern team, with a willingness to travel and support other regions as needed.
- Play a key part in a team where your expertise is trusted, and long-term careers are the norm.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Solid background in heavy plant, agricultural machinery, forklift trucks, heavy material handling, or similar.
- Qualified to Level 3 (NVQ or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering (either discipline accepted).
- Experience with hydraulics and an increasing comfort with electrical systems (you can read wiring diagrams).
- An ability to fault-find and perform diagnostics in CAN-BUS systems.
- Reliable, self-managing, and committed to quality.
- Willingness to work at heights.
