We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. Who we are
No.FortyNine is a relaxed all day neighbourhood restaurant on St John’s Wood High Street, created by Jake Finn, owner of Cinder in St John’s Wood and Belsize Park.
By morning, a contemporary bakery serving fresh Viennoiserie, artisan coffee and smoothies. At lunchtime, the focus shifts to seasonal salads and fresh, feel good dishes. By evening, the space becomes a warm and welcoming wine bar, serving approachable old world favourites alongside a New York bistro style menu created by Chef Ella Williams.
The atmosphere is relaxed, stylish and easy going, with cosy seating, high stools overlooking the terrace, and a separate children’s play area. Dogs and children are very welcome, making No.FortyNine a place for every part of the day, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, coffee, wine or dinner.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in the organisation and management of specific sections within the kitchen
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in meal preparation and kitchen operations is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience serving or working in a hospitality setting is beneficial
