Business Development Manager
Market rate base salary / package subject to experience
Location: Pilsworth, Bury, Lancashire
We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to help grow our business by managing key accounts, finding new opportunities, and shaping our marketing strategy. You will report to the General Manager and work closely with a small internal sales and customer service team.
Summary
Ibex Marina Ropes (IMR) is a privately owned manufacturer of fibre ropes, cords, and braids, servicing a wide range of markets including Military, Aerospace, Outdoor leisure, and Marine safety. Financially stable, with excellent culture and opportunities for career progression.
Recently moved into a brand-new production facility at Pilsworth - BL9 8RZ, close to Junction 3 of the M66 and easily connected to the Manchester orbital motorway.

Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager:
Account Management:
- Manage key accounts and support smaller customers in the UK and abroad.
- Build strong relationships and meet sales targets.
- Create and follow account plans and support marketing efforts through trade customers.
New Business:
- Find and win new strategic accounts with support from the marketing team.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of leads.
- Drive sales from first contact to closing.
- Work with the General Manager to close deals.
Marketing:
- Help shape marketing strategies that support sales goals.
- Align sales efforts with marketing campaigns for maximum impact.
Requirements to be successful as a Business Development Manager:
- 7 - 10 year's sales experience, ideally in manufacturing.
- Comfortable travelling in the UK and abroad.
- Strong relationship-builder and communicator.
- Organised and goal focused.
- Confident with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a bonus.
- Sector experience in defence and/or technical applications would be advantageous such as fire & rescue / outdoor leisure, with a a technical/mechanical background / mindset with knowledge of break load.

Hours:
Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00. The role will be based out of Bury; however, there will be a mix of office and frequent travel to include foreign travel and overnight stays to visit customers and exhibit at trade shows in-line with the target marketplace. There will be a requirement to work outside of standard hours on occasions for business needs.
