Summary:
A well-established specialist care provider is looking for an experienced Care Manager to lead a supported living or residential service in Redhill. This is a senior management role suited to someone who thrives in a complex care environment, leads by example, and is genuinely committed to helping the people they support live a good life.
You will have accountability for a team of Support Workers, Lead Support Workers and, where applicable, an Assistant Service Manager. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support for people with complex needs including learning disability, autism, mental health conditions and physical health needs, while taking full responsibility for the operational and financial management of the service
The Role of Care Manager:
As a Level 3 Care Manager, you will manage a large support team delivering complex care packages including 1:1 and 1:2 support across one or more service locations. Your responsibilities will span care quality, staff development, housing management, compliance and budget oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strong, values-led leadership and building a positive service culture in line with the organisation's ethos
- Overseeing all aspects of person-centred support planning, risk management and positive behavioural support
- Managing housing support functions including tenancies, benefit claims, rent, arrears and maintenance
- Ensuring full compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and CQC regulatory requirements
- Leading recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management of the service team
- Managing the service within agreed budgets, overseeing financial administration and reporting on KPIs
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with local authority practitioners, health professionals, families and external partners
- Participating in the regional on-call rota

The Ideal Candidate:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within health or social care
- Proven experience managing teams of up to 20 FTE and services delivering up to 800 support hours per week
- Strong knowledge of complex care needs including learning disability, autism, mental health, personality disorders and physical health conditions
- Sound understanding of CQC regulatory requirements and relevant legislation including the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Mental Health Act
- Experience across both residential and supported living settings
- Confident in housing support management tenancies, benefit claims, neighbour disputes and maintenance
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience using digital care planning or HR systems
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it funded by the organisation
- Relevant professional mental health qualification, Autism Coach, Positive Behavioural Support
- Experience as or willingness to become a CQC Registered Manager
