Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced machine operator with a strong background in agriculture and forestry. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and be proficient in operating heavy machinery, including excavators. This role involves handling specialised equipment for forestry and arboriculture operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate forestry and agricultural machinery, including tree handlers, excavators and other heavy equipment, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency
- Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and condition
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of machinery
- Perform work as outlined within a specification and ensure environmental and health and safety guidelines are met during all operations
- Collaborate and communicate with team members and customers to complete daily tasks accurately and efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience as a machine operator within the agricultural or forestry sector
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery
- Valid clean UK driving licence (or equivalent)
- Ability to operate excavators/ heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various terrains and conditions
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Physical fitness
- Willingness to work and a can do attitude.
- Good communication skills
Pay: Up to £220.00 per day
