Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, and assisting in a care home settings. Prior experience is not essential, as training will be provided. The role is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
- Organising storage areas for ingredients and supplies
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during service periods
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Taking meals to residents of our care home, this will be either in the dinning room or the room of their choice.
- ensuring the menu is taken around to all residents the day before service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques is a plus
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or hospitality settings is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work
Pay: £12.71-£13.29 per hour
