COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Al Isharah is the UK’s leading Islamic Deaf services charity. We are a deaf services provider whose focus is to provide education, overall inclusion and equality through a number of services. The British Deaf community do not have access to these basic Islamic tenets in British Sign Language (BSL). We want to ensure Deaf people can learn about Allah, pray, make dua, understand their obligations of zakat, fast with knowledge, perform Umrah and perform Hajj. Our vision is to make the very basic tenets of Islam accessible at the least so Deaf people can adopt a healthy Muslim identity. We have been making Islam accessible to the Deaf community since 2008. Our work ensures those who are deaf or hard of hearing are not left behind in understanding our faith. We not only provide an education, we also provide social inclusion, access to pastoral support and counselling, deaf accessibility to community events, workshops, khutbah in BSL on a weekly basis, create resources and are leading the way in translating the glorious Quran into British Sign Language.
