Lucky Paws is a well-established pet care company run by a team with backgrounds in veterinary science, dog training and rehabilitation. We are looking for a reliable and experienced Animal Care Assistant to support our dog walking, daycare and cat-sitting services.
This is a varied role providing occasional holiday cover for staff members, weekend cat visits, daycare support and occasional overnight pet sitting. For the right person, there is the opportunity for additional hours and increased responsibility in the future.
Typical hours: 5-20 hours per week, depending on bookings and the time of year.
Responsibilities
- Supporting our daycare team and supervising dogs in secure countryside locations.
- Dog walking in small groups in the Clapham area
- Weekend and holiday cat visits in clients' homes - paid per client visit
- Overnight pet sitting for clients on holiday
- Holiday and sickness cover for existing team members.
- Transporting dogs safely and maintaining high standards of care.
- Working independently while providing excellent communication with clients and the team.
No two weeks are the same, so flexibility and reliability are essential.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with animals, either professionally or through significant hands-on experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own reliable car.
- Living locally to Clapham or South West London.
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Confident handling dogs of different breeds and sizes.
- Organised, dependable and able to work independently.
- Friendly, professional and an excellent communicator.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
Qualifications in animal care, veterinary nursing, behaviour or training are welcomed but not essential.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
