The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen team in preparing high-quality food while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene. This role is essential in ensuring efficient kitchen operations and delivering a great customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients.
- Prepare basic menu items in accordance with Thai Express recipes and company standards.
- Ensure food is prepared, stored, and handled safely in line with food hygiene regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Wash dishes, kitchen equipment, and cooking utensils promptly.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Kitchen Manager of any shortages.
- Receive and store deliveries following food safety procedures.
- Dispose of waste correctly and keep refuse areas clean and organised.
- Help with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, food safety procedures, and allergen controls.
- Work effectively as part of a team during busy service periods.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
Skills and ExperienceEssential

- Experience working with Asian or Thai cuisine.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes and kitchen supplies safely.
- Comfortable working in a busy and warm kitchen environment.
Working Hours
- Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
