The Home
Cherry Tree
Our residents are all male and between the ages of 27-45 with various diagnosis & needs such as Autism, learning disability, Epilepsy, Non-verbal communication, Challenging behaviour and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
We are a purpose-built residential care home with 6 residents currently.
We are surrounded by fields and land as well as a fantastic Day centre next door.
Our residents spend time out in the community, shopping, visiting London or further for day trips as well as engaging in preferred activities in the home and sessions in the day centre such as swimming, soft play and the gym.
The Role
Support staff are required to support the residents of the home to reach their potential and make the most of their time in a positive and productive way whilst managing emotional regulation and staying safe.
This can include a multitude of support depending on the individual’s needs.
- Personal care (Bath, shower, hair washing, oral care, incontinence care, nail care etc..)
- Food preparation / Cooking
- Supporting to complete daily living skills (Laundry, vacuuming, changing bedding, cleaning)
- Supporting with activities and hobbies within and outside of the home
- Administering medication
- Maintain health and safety in the home
- Maintain infection control standards in the home
- Emotional and behavioural support (including support with behaviours of concern that can present physically)
- Communication support using visuals and assisted technologies
- Attending medical appointments
- Recording accurate notes of daily activities, nutrition and hydration as well as any incidents, accidents or concerns.
- Participating in team handover at the end of each shift.
- Answering the house phone or front door and support visitors within the home, ensuring the identity of all visitors.
- Maintaining a good working knowledge of all residents needs and company policies and procedures.
- To attend training relevant to your roles and responsibilities.

The Shifts
Our shift times are:
Early 07:00 am - 14:30 pm
Late 14:00 pm - 21:30 pm
We do allow long day shifts to be worked, only if the team member is happy to do so, or wishes to pick up overtime. These are 07:00am - 21:30pm.
Team members are expected to work a mixture of early and late shift as well as every other weekend, and bank holidays as standard. The rota is published 4 weeks in advance to support our team with a healthy work/life balance.
We are currently offering the following contracts:
- Full time Days (37.5 hours)
- Part time Days (22.5 hours)
