Step Start Nurseries are looking for a Room Leader to join our team.

What does the role entail?
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading the daily running of your room, supporting your team and ensuring children receive high-quality care, learning and development opportunities.
You will work closely with the nursery management team to maintain a positive, organised and engaging room environment. You will support practitioners, guide daily routines, build strong relationships with families and ensure the EYFS is delivered effectively.
This role is ideal for someone who holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification and has experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
What are the key responsibilities of the role?
- Lead the daily running of the nursery room
- Support, guide and motivate practitioners within the room
- Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
- Observe, assess and record children’s development and progress
- Support key person responsibilities and ensure children’s individual needs are met
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers
- Maintain a safe, caring and engaging environment
- Support room routines including meals, sleep times, toileting and personal care
- Ensure ratios are maintained and staff are deployed effectively
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and management
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times
You should apply if you have...
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare or above
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
- Experience supporting or leading a room is desirable
- A good understanding of the EYFS
- Confidence supporting children’s learning, care and development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to support, guide and motivate others
- A positive, reliable and caring approach
- Good organisation skills and attention to detail
What are the requirements for the role?
- You MUST hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification
- You MUST have the right to work in the UK. Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this role
- You must be willing to complete relevant background checks
- Previous Room Leader or senior practitioner experience is desirable

Pay: £30,160.00-£33,000.00 per year
