About the Role:
A nurturing primary school in Burnley is seeking a patient, dedicated, and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This long‑term position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs, helping them to make progress both academically and emotionally. The school is committed to providing personalised support, ensuring every child feels valued, understood, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, following their individual support plans
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions
- Support the children with learning activities, communication, social interactions, and emotional regulation
- Adapt tasks and resources to meet the pupil’s needs and ensure full engagement
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
You will have:
- Two education or school-based references
- The ability to engage with pupils and make an immediate impact on the pupils learning
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
