We have a fixed term opportunity available for an individual to join our team in a role designed to gain practical greenkeeping and specialist turf experience.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone is looking to develop practical skills and gain exposure to specialist grounds maintenance operations. We operate in a wide area across Yorkshire and surrounding areas, but the work will primarily be based in Kirklees, West Yorkshire. With that in mind, there is an expectation for the candidate to travel in works time, a vehicle will be provided, but a full clean driving licence is essential.
The role will primarily involve taking responsibility for contracted bowling greens, while also supporting the businesses wider sports pitch maintenance activities allowing the candidate to broaden their turf maintenance experience.
The role is largely mowing and machinery operations, the candidate must be confident in operating a ride-on lawn mower and other large machinery, with some more physical duties whilst handling materials etc on certain tasks. Lone working is a large part of this job, so trustworthiness and an ability to use initiative is required.
An understanding of customer service and satisfaction is also required, as customer interaction is essential to the success of the business.
Previous experience on fine turf is preferred.
