Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Butcher to join our team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills in meat preparation, butchery techniques, and food safety within a professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced butchers to learn the craft of meat cutting, processing, and presentation, contributing to delivering high-quality products to our customers. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of various types of meat products under supervision
- Learn and perform butchery techniques including cutting, trimming, and portioning meat
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
- Support the team in organising stock, rotating products, and ensuring cleanliness of work areas
- Help with packaging and labelling meat products for sale or distribution
- Follow instructions from senior staff regarding food preparation procedures and safety protocols
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workspace at all times
Qualifications
- Passion for food production, culinary arts, or butchery is desirable
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Prior kitchen or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to health and safety regulations

Starting salary only the first year of butchery work. Will increase after first year of apprenticeship.
