Kennel Cleaner
Responsible to: Kennel Care Attendant
Summary of Job
Working in a busy boarding kennels, you should have a mature attitude, be personable and professional, totally reliable and be able to demonstrate minimum required experience, ability to manage & work in a small team, great customer service, excellent communication & organisational skills, attention to detail, relentless energy and self-motivation and happy to work outside in ALL weathers.
You must be available to work 365 days a year, including weekends, public and school holidays. Must be able to work mornings and evenings.
Qualifications for both positions:
Desirable but not Essential - Minimum of Level 2 in Animal Management or equivalent OFQUAL qualification
Hours:
8am to 5pm - Saturday & Sunday with option to cover staff absence
Responsibilities and Duties
To maintain the kennels and surrounding compound as per the processes and procedures.
Clean and maintain Kennels
Clean and maintain Kennel compound and surrounding areas
Various duties within the Kennel environment
Assist with Kennel Laundry processing
Governance and quality management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant operating standards
- Ensure compliance with Kennels policies for data handling and storage, plus compliance with the Data Protection Act
- Ensure that all daily processes are completed effectively, with activities carried out in a timely and accurate manner as per procedures
- Discuss, evaluate & recommend all operational concerns with Manager at all stages as required
- Understand and comply with Kennels policies and procedures on Health & Safety at work
- Ensure that you adopt safe working practices at all times in accordance with Kennels policies and procedures on health & safety at work and take appropriate corrective action where necessary
- Ensure that you understand appropriate methods of working to achieve conformance with Kennels policies and take appropriate corrective action where necessary.
General
- Act in the best interests of the Kennels at all times
- Perform all other duties as reasonably required that are consistent with both your training and experience
- Present a professional image at all times.
Experience:
None required
Desirable: Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
